Homicides: Laney Gwinner Unsolved Murder Victim - Fairfield OH
Out of State Unsolved Homicides FindCarrie writes "

Laney Gwinner called one of her close friends on Dec. 10, 1997 to go out to celebrate her completion of final exams a new job promotion. Her friend Joy was unable to go because she was sick. Laney would get another young man in their circle of friends to join her at the bowling alley. Later that same afternoon Laney would call her friend Joy to tell her she was going to her boyfriends house. Witnesses say that they saw Laney on the phone and walking out of the bowling alley, but after her departure, her final moments would turn into a mystery that would forever haunt her friends and family..

Approximately a month and one day after Laney disappeared (January 11, 1998), her lifeless body was found in the Ohio river, but her 93 black Honda Del Sol (license plates AKP3607) has never been located. No items were stolen from Laney, such as her bank cards or jewelry, just her car.

Police could not confirm the cause of death, but Laney's death was ruled a homicide. Although it has been several years since Laney's disappearance and death, her friends and family still need to know what went wrong that night and who is responsible. If you or someone you know can help bring closure to this case, please come forward. Laney did not deserve to die just a heinous death. There is someone out there who knows.

Homicides: Heidi Seeman - - - TX
Texas Unsolved Homicides
Heidi Seeman

15 Years Later, Girl's Murder Remains Unsolved
Police Say Case Remains Open

SAN ANTONIO --HEIDI SEEMAN Case 90/400893, August 4, 1990 On Saturday, August 4, 1990, after spending the night with a friend, 11-year-old Heidi Seeman was walking home when she was abducted. Her friend, who had walked her halfway home, last saw Heidi at Stahl Rd. and Willow Run, on San Antonio's Northeast side. A witness in this case described a shiny red car, with tinted windows and a thin red stripe down the side, seen driving in the neighborhood in a suspicious manner, just prior to Heidi Seeman being abducted. On Saturday, August 25, 1990, the decomposed remains of Heidi Seeman were discovered in an isolated property off County Road 220 in Hays County, Texas. An autopsy performed on the complainant led Medical Examiner Dr. DiMiao to rule the cause of death a homicide. Over the years several leads have been investigated and suspects developed, but not enough evidence has been found for police to file a case against anyone. Police are asking for your help in finding the person or persons responsible for this senseless murder of a young girl.

On Aug. 4, 1990, 11-year-old Heidi Seeman was abducted while walking home from a friend's house on Stahl Road. She was found murdered 21 days later on a dirt road in Wimberley. Fifteen years later, Heidi's murder remains unsolved. Theresa Seeman, Heidi's mother, now lives in Florida. She said she's angry that her daughter's murderer has never been brought to justice. "That he walked away from her murder and everything he did to her," said Seeman."But not only that -- he could be doing that to another child at anytime. That is very hard to live with," she said. Seeman said she's also angry that child abductions are becoming a sign of the times."Predators are even coming into their home and even taking children. We can't imprison our children, but we need to go after the predators that are hurting them and make sure that they are in prisons," said Seeman.San Antonio police pursued two suspects in connection with Heidi's murder, but made no arrests for lack of evidence."We haven't gone forward with any case, because we don't feel we have enough probable cause on either of our suspects at this time," said George Saidler, a spokesman for the San Antonio Police Department's Cold Case Homicide Unit.Saidler said even though there are no new developments in the murder investigation, investigators continue to actively work the case. Theresa Seeman makes a return trip to San Antonio each year to mark Heidi's birthday. She said she eats birthday cake at a local restaurant with two balloons. "We each had a balloon and let it go. We wished Heidi a happy birthday and the balloons went straight up -- even in the rain," said Seeman.
